Dermal Filler Treatment Areas

What areas can dermal fillers treat?

Dermal fillers like Restylane®  can help restore volume and fullness to the skin and correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. Possible treatment areas include:

As we age, our body’s ability to replenish collagen in the skin’s dermis layer steadily decreases. The resulting breakdown of collagen and elastin leads to loss of skin elasticity and contributes to the outward appearance of signs of aging, such as lines, wrinkles, and hollowing of facial features like under the eyes.

Restylane® is made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance found in the body. This clear, biodegradable gel is injected into the dermis layer of the skin and draws in water to fill in the spaces between collagen and elastin fibers to support the soft tissue. This helps smooth out lines and wrinkles, and gives your skin a more youthful, supple, and natural-looking appearance. Because Restylane® is not extracted from animals, there is no risk of allergic reaction and it is perfectly safe to use instantly without pre-testing.

FDA approved labeling states that Restylane® lasts about 12 months. Depending on the area treated, duration can vary. You can replenish your rejuvenated appearance with enhancement treatments any time you feel you need it.

At Modern Aesthetic Institute in Bakersfield, Dr. Joseph Chang achieves superior facial rejuvenation results by utilizing wrinkle relaxers, dermal fillers, or both. While wrinkle relaxers primarily target “dynamic” lines caused by facial expressions and their associated muscle movements, dermal fillers are used to reduce “static” lines, which are creases in the skin not related to expressions. Dermal fillers can also restore volume lost due to the natural, age-related decrease in collagen and elastin, helping you regain a more youthful, supple appearance. Many patients benefit greatly from using a combination of both treatments to obtain optimal results.

How do dermal fillers work
Sculptra Aesthetic Treatment Bakersfield

Sculptra® is a great option for those seeking a more youthful appearance without looking like they’ve had work done. It is made with biocompatible, biodegradable, synthetic material called poly-L-lactic acid, and is injected into the skin where it works with your body to revitalize collagen production. This means it addresses the underlying cause of aging, not just the symptoms, and helps gradually restore lost volume and smooth out wrinkles and lines.

The number of injection appointments and the number of injections per appointment will vary depending on how much collagen has been lost. On average, patients undergo three injection appointments over a period of a few months. One of the greatest things about Sculptra® is that the results can last up to two years!

Superior dermal fillers are an art in itself

Just as a sculptor must be able to visualize the sculpture within the block of marble, so must an aesthetic injector be able to envision the dermal filler results you would like them to achieve.
